On Day 1 of filming we filmed 3 shots of our college scenes, I feel that this day went quite well as everyone wanted to get started and involved in the film.We got at least five versions of each shot that we were doing so that we could choose the better ones out of the selection.
On Day 2 of filming we went down to the docks and filmed our shots for the scene at the dock. We had to film the shots over ten times as everyone who was in these shots was not taking it serious and kept on messing up the shots.
On Day 3 of filming we carried on filming some of the shots for the college scenes. This day went very well as
On Day 4 of filming we decided to go out again and re shoot the first scene at college
On Day 5 we went out and filmed our scene at the graveyard

Our Movies Pre-Production Work

Lately in our lessons we had been doing our Pre-Production work for our movie which we have named Instant Retribution. It is a 90 second short movie about two brothers which are having problems together. The older brother is an alcoholic who is involved with a gang and the younger brother is still at college and not helping the older brother.

Over the course of the film the older brother gets in more trouble for owing someone money and gets killed for it. The movie ends with the younger brother going to the older ones grave and saying that he is sorry for not being there when he needed him the most.

Stage 1- The Shot list

The first thing we had to do after deciding what we were going to have our film about was the shot list.

DepicT- Own Idea for 90 second short movie

So we have been asked to come up with an idea for a 90 second short movie to pitch to the groups we are going to be assigned to. This idea may not be the one that we actually go ahead with, but i still have to share.

The Idea:

My idea is to have a meeting between two people going on in the forest but when they think they are all alone the worst happens. A killer comes out of the treeline and kills one of them. The next part of the movie focusses on the other person trying to hide from the killer.

Yawa Nemesis 

          
This short film YAWA Nemesis i found in the 2014 video archive on DepicT. I thought this short movie was good as it incorporated lots of good shots on the actors and also used a nice variety of different shots in the movie. The film is about two thieves that try to get away in a car they steal from one of the workers and then get trapped in the car. The film uses a good amount of humour and sound. The movie uses a good amount of close ups and medium shots and also uses some wide shots along with a long shot near the start. You can tell this movie is going to be a comedy from the lighting they used for it as it is very bright and exposed.

The End

          
This short film The End was in the DepicT picks folder on their website. The movie is about a man who discovers his globe controls the earth, so when he turns it, the world goes to night time and causes lots of mayhem outside by the sounds of it. At the end he gets stressed and gets out a cigarette and reaches for his lighter causing him to knock the globe off the desk which causes the end. I think the moral of the story is that smoking kills.

This short film How to tell a relationship is over was one of the winning short movies on DepicT. It is about a couple who a trying to get their relationship working again but it shows all of the signs of how it starts going downhill. I thought it was a great short movie as it added in adult humour with younger humour. Over the time the signs begin to get dumber and dumber but i think that is what starts to make it so funny and enjoyable to watch.
